Example of AllKidsGo!™ Teaching Tools:
Improve Articulation Through Animated Speech Modeling,
Sound-by-Sound Pronunciation of Words,
and Attention to "Minimal Pairs"

In this Learning Game, "Say It," the child practices difficult sounds such as [s], [sh], [r], [w], and [l].

Each sound section begins with animated illustrations of how the sound is produced, such as this model for the sound [sh]:

Clicking on the tongue image triggers the sound [sh].
Other slides illustrate the difference between the sounds [t], [s], and [sh].

Similar sections model the articulation of other sounds, including [t], [s], [r], [w], and [l].

In each sound section, the child practices correct pronunciation of words with the help of sound-by-sound animations, as in the following example, where letter groups representing sounds fade in one at a time, together with the correct sounds, and followed by the whole word and its pronunciation:

Practice is arranged according to the principle of "minimal pairs" --i.e., words that differ in just one sound (e.g., /sip/ vs. /ship/, /white/ vs/ /right/, or /tick/ vs. /sick/).

The child then uses the "SayIt" button to copy the model (record and play back speech):
