The fabulous
AllKidsGo!™ Learning Games We have lived with autism in our family for 30 years.
After our son aged out of special school, we continued to work with him in many
ways -- reading, writing, speech and language, music (he plays the piano),
skiing, kayaking and canoeing, rollerblading, traveling up and down the country
and overseas. He developed a liking for the computer, and especially enjoyed the
graphics programs KidPix and Creative Painter (both of which we can heartily
recommend). However, educational software for reading, writing, and general
concepts turned out to be very unsatisfactory. We are offering these games at less than $1 per game To run the free demos or purchased games, you
need only the FREE OpenOffice.org program, which you can
download right here! It's a powerful, complete office suite including a word processor, the
presentations program Impress, a drawing program, a spreadsheet program, a
database program, etc. Documents can be saved in

The
Story of AllKidsGo!™
After trying many
programs, including FastForWord, we finally developed our own set of Learning
Games to address our son's conceptual and language problems. These games
were highly interactive PowerPoint presentations, and to our delight, our son
responded enthusiastically. Many concepts, such as time or
cause-and-effect, which are difficult to illustrate in ordinary ways became much
easier to teach with these animated games. But the programs also address
such areas as articulation and speech perception with the help of sophisticated
animation.
Of course, we knew that many children share our son's
difficulties and could profit from these games -- but PowerPoint is an
expensive program, and we could not assume that ordinary families were
willing to buy it.
Then came the discovery that OpenOffice.org, a FREE office
suite comparable to Microsoft Office, did the job just as well as PowerPoint! We
re-coded a few of the games on that platform and soon were satisfied that
they worked smoothly. Many months later, a complete set of
AllKidsGo!™ games was ready, revised to be useful to a wide
range of children.
